Board of Directors

(2-year term)

Darlene Robbins

Val Currier

Glynis Littlewood       Past President    (1-year term)

Dee Wildenstein and Rhonda Gibbs have 1 year left on their 2-year board positions.

Cindy Hintz took the floor and said she wanted her name taken off the ballot for the 2-year board term. This only left Darlene Robbins and Val Currier for the 2-year board term.

The only position to vote on was Karen Riddle and Trudy Price for 2nd Vice President.

Karen and Trudy gave a description of what each had to offer the club.

Votes were counted and Karen and Trudy each received 10 votes. Since it was a tie, the club members voted again.  Another tie.  Since this had never happened before, Roberts Rules were looked at to see if something could be found in the rules regarding ties.

In the meantime, 2 members left, which changed the number of people voting again.

Ben Gibbs, new President, took over the meeting at 8:15 pm.

Pam Brownlee and Pierce Massey had their 1st reading on their applications for club membership.

The following members were voted into the club: Selma Kominek, Eddie Kominek, Darcy Kalllus, Craig Kallus, Barbara Richman, and David Richman.

Karen Riddle wants the club website to be password protected. Rhonda Gibbs said we would have to have the Webmaster make the necessary changes and there would be a fee.

Mary Sparks made the motion to have this done. Glynis 2nd the motion.  Rhonda will check on the cost of the password protection with the Webmaster.  Karen Riddle asked if we need minutes on the website and in the club newsletter.  One password for the entire club to get into the website is not secure.

No mention of a vote or if it was passed

Tom Kirstein mentioned that we not have board minutes published.

Cindy Hintz said what is said in Board meeting stays there. The board can go into executive session in separate minutes if needed.  Board minutes need to be available for the club  unless the Board goes into executive session.

Rhonda Gibbs said we could have a unique sign-on user ID and password. It will take time to get this done.  Glynis 2nd the motion.

No mention of a vote or if it was passed

Minutes will be in the “Dog’s Ear” only to current members. For non-members Karen can take out the minutes.

The Board had made a recommendation that the President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, and Treasurer be on the signature cards of 1ST Tennessee Bank and Raymond James account.  Currently, only 2 names are on the signature cards now.  Rhonda Gibbs made the motion to have this done.  Trudy Price 2nd the motion.

No mention of a vote or if it was passed

There was a vote and it was passed

New Business

Judy Pinkevich mentioned that Eddie Kominek wants to use the club’s name to do a lure coursing trial.   He would have to pay a fee to the club to do this.  This will be discussed at a board meeting.  Judy will send the application for the CAT trial to AKC.  The club must find out about insurance coverage for this event.

Jan and Charlie LeBlanc sent a sign up sheet around for club members to work the Fun Fest Dog Show on July 18.

Ben Gibbs suggested about voting for the 2nd Vice President office again at the next club meeting. He stated that only members present at the June meeting would be allowed to vote at the July meeting.  Multiple members objected to this idea.

Voting for the 3rd time

Another secret ballot was taken. The club members were still not sure if this was the correct thing to do.

Trudy had 1 more vote than Karen because of 1 abstention. Two original voting members had left so the vote was based on the remaining voters.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm

Ben took over the meeting at 8:15

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm

Respectfully submitted,

Darlene Robbins

Acting Recording Secretary
