Minutes 6-22-15
The regular meeting of the Greater Kingsport Kennel Club was called to order at 7:34 p.m. by President Elaine Taylor.
Members present: Tammy Elliott, Ben Gibbs, Rhonda Gibbs, Brenda Grable, Gayle Green, Cindy Hintz, Pam Jones, Tom Kirstein, Glynis Littlewood, Judy Pinkevich, Darlene Robbins, Elaine Taylor, and Kim Williams.
Guests present: Jeremy Smith and Faith Smith.
The Minutes of the May 25, 2015 meeting were read and approved as corrected.
The Treasurer’s Report was distributed and discussed.
The slate of nominations for officers and board members was read. As there had been no nominations from the floor at the May meeting, Cindy Hintz moved that the slate be elected by acclamation. Motion seconded and passed. Elaine Taylor turned the gavel over to the new President Glynis Littlewood.
The applications for membership for Jeremy and Faith Smith were read for the first time. Their sponsors are Ben Gibbs and Judy Pinkevich.
Judy Pinkevich reported that the Agility Trials have been approved; the Premium List should be out in July.
Rhonda Gibbs volunteered to coordinate the Christmas party in December.
The LeBlancs will need our help at the Pet Dog Show at FunFest on Monday, July 13 from 3 p.m. to 8:30. Details will be sent in a later email. This counts as community outreach for AKC, so our support and participation is needed.
Member Interest Forms were distributed to assist the new Board in making committee assignments for the coming year.
Kim Williams suggested sponsoring a Lure Coursing Event to raise money for the club and allow dogs to compete in another AKC event. Kim will present a program on Lure Coursing at the September meeting.
Brags were made.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
Cindy Hintz, acting Recording Secretary
