Greater Kingsport Kennel Club Board meeting was held on August 12, 2022, at Poblano’s Mexican Restaurant in Boones Creek and called to order at 6:37 PM by President, Ben Gibbs.

Board members present Ben Gibbs, Rhonda Gibbs, Brenda Grable, Pierce Massey, Carrie Kruska, Andrew and DeAnna Moore, Kim Williams, and Michelle Kruger.

The treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

A new membership application for Brian King was read and the board unanimously approved Brian’s application to be recommended for general membership.

There was a discussion to do an internal audit of the financial books which will be led by Kim Williams. We will need 3 GKKC members(volunteers) to audit the financial GKKC books. The Board would like to see oversight on financial matters by other GKKC Members.

The UT Scholarship should be organized by someone other than the GKKC Treasurer.

Discussion of streamlining the GKKC application process.

Long-term goals for the club were discussed and it was mentioned that we should look for the land we can purchase to build a clubhouse on and hold events.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 PM.
