April club minutes were read and approved.

There was no Treasurer’s report.

Glynis, who is also Show Chairman, gave a President’s report on our show. Everything went very well. She had received very nice comments on the show, show site, judges, and how many people we had working (members andon-members.)

The entry was up from last year from 606 dogs with a total entry of 628 on Saturday and 120 different different breeds.

Darlene Robbins, Obedience and Rally chair, commented how well everything went, even with rain on the way on Saturday. The same stewards who usually work the rings were there again this year. On Saturday there were 23 obedience entries with 26 rally entries. Our club offers the Alternate Titling Classes and the Optional Titling classes. There are 8 of these and we had entries in most of those classes. Lots of compliments were received regarding the trial and how smoothly everything ran. We had 2 really nice judges who everyone likes. Brenda Grable suggested giving non-members who worked at the obedience ring something for their time. Darlene Robbins said we used to give all members who worked 4 hours or more free classes. We have not had classes in a few years. Someone at the show asked Glynis why we did not offer Owner-Handled classes on Sunday. This will be discussed by the Board.

The dates for the Agility Trials are October 14, 15, 16, 2016.

Jan and Charlie LeBlanc discussed the Fun Fest Dog Show on Monday, July 18, 2016. The show meets AKC’s educational requirements for 1-year. It has been held since the early 1980’s. It is a dog show for pets with $1.00 entry fee. Since dog owners have to show a rabies certificate, it offers a chance for pet owners to get their dogs vaccinated. The show has been rained out for the last 2 years. It will be held at Allandale Mansion Help will be needed at 4pm for set-up and later at 6pm when the show starts. Insurance is provided by Fun Fest. It would be great if an indoor location could be found.
Darlene Robbins did an article regarding our show for the Kingsport Times-News and the Johnson City Press. Glynis was also on TV with her Wolfhound on Wednesday before the show. Dr. Robinson had our show shown on his marquee at his Johnson City office.

It was the 2nd reading for Darcy and Craig Kallus, Barbara and David Richman, Selma and Eddie Kominek.

Darlene Robbins, Nominating Committee Chair, read the nominations.

Karen Riddle was presented with AKC Outstanding Sportsmanship award at our show. Karen has been a faithful, hard-working member of this club for many years.

The food vendors’ delicious food was discussed. Judy Pinkevich would like to get them to come to the agility trial in White Pine in October. JoAnn Marques did a great job with the food for our show. Darlene asked if anyone had seen EMS at the show. Glynis had seen them there. They were to be on standby Saturday and Sunday. Karen Riddle thinks a password for “members only” is needed for the website and “The Dog’s Ear.” There was some discussion. It is to be brought to the board,

Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:58 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Darlene Robbins
Acting Recording Secretary
