GKKC January 2020 General Minutes

Greater Kingsport Kennel Club General meeting was held on January 27, 2020 at Appalachian Fairgrounds and called to order at 7:02 PM by Vice-President, Trudy Price.
Members present were: Kim Williams, David Richman, Barbara Salberg-Richman, Pam Miller, Karen Schavrien, Brenda Grable, Pam Jones, Judy Pinkevich, Val Currier, Joe Currier, Sherry Crossley, Carrie Hodges, Julie Webster, Katie Smiley, Andrew Moore, Michelle Kruger, Kendalyn Kruger, Kristy Jones, Ray Jones, Glynis Littlewood, Cindy Hintz, Debbie Sullivan, Trudy Price, Mary Sparks and Tom Kirstein.

Visitors present were: Lyn Hyman, Donna Hamm, Pamela Bradbury, Cherrie and Mitch Fishlowitz, Jane Elizabeth Smith(puppydukesmithii@yahoo.com)and Brooke Salyer(lbsalyer@yahoo.com).

General meeting minutes from the December 4, 2019 Meeting were not read.

Treasurer’s report was accepted and approved as presented.

The AKC College Scholarship was discussed.

Conformation Show Chair reported a Best Bred by Exhibitor class will be a new addition to the May 2020 Show. W-9 Tax Forms (info for 1099) for May 2020 Judges will be mailed to them prior to the Show Dates.

Scent work Committee chair reported the next scent work trial will be held on March 14 and March 15 at the Appalachian Fairgrounds.

Agility chair reported the next trial will be October 9, 10, 11, 2020, at White Pine. Katie Smiley will function as the co-chair for the Agility Committee.
2nd reading of membership applications for Mitch and Cherrie Fishlowitz, Pamela Bradbury, and Donna Hamm.

Pam Miller discussed GKKC co-sponsoring the Sullivan County 4-H Dog Group . This would include a Volunteer Coordinator/Group Leader for the Sullivan County Group while working to promote and sponsor a 4-H Dog Group.

The next GKKC General Meeting will be held on February 24th, 2020.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM.
