The Greater Kingsport Kennel Club General meeting was held on February 27, 2023, at the Gray Community Chest Building called to order by Vice-President, Andrew Moore, at 6:31 PM.

Members present were Diane Bauman, Rhonda Gibbs, Kim Williams, David Richman, Barbara Salberg-Richman, Brenda Grable, Katie Smiley, Pamela Bradbury, Julie Webster, Judy Pinkevich, Dannie Lee, Pam Miller, Pam Jones, Andrew Moore,Tom Kirstein, Brian King, Karen Smith, Joe Currier, Val Currier, and Carrie Kruska.

Visitors present were Bob Potter, Johanna Granger (Johanna.Granger@gmail.com), Diane Sobel-Meyer, Joy Ellis, and Jean Ponstingle.

The January general meeting minutes were read by Carrie Kruska and approved as read.

Treasurer’s report was read by Brenda Grable. Treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

The Conformation show chair, Pam Jones discussed the Boy Scouts assisting the May show and a security guard will be on-site per Brenda Grable. Donations are requested for the basket raffle for the May GKKC show.

The Fast CAT offerings per Judy Pinkevich are approved through the AKC for the May and October Fast CATS.

GKKC Member Dannie Lee shared the prizes for Juniors at the upcoming May Conformation Show.

The October Agility Trial will be in Bulls Gap at the 3 Bulls Arena which currently is awaiting AKC approval.

GKKC Potluck will be held on March 27 at the Gray Community Chest at 6pm. The GKKC will provide pizza and drinks.

For the February GKKC meeting, Diane Bauman provided an engaging and informational presentation on Afghan Hounds. Highlights the Breed being recognized by the AKC in 1926. Additionally, Afghan Hounds grooming was presented by visitor, Johanna Granger.

There was discussion of volunteers needed on May 18 and May 19 for set-up of the conformation and Obedience Rally.
