The Greater Kingsport Kennel Club General meeting was held Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Gray Community Chest and was called to order at 6:40 PM by President, Andrew Moore.

Members present were: Diane Bauman, Pam McDonald, Rhonda Gibbs, Ben Gibbs, Kim Williams, David Richman, Barbara Salberg-Richman, Brenda Grable, Katie Smiley, Trudy Price, Julie Webster, Pam McDonald, Judy Pinkevich, Dannie Lee, Pam Jones, Karen Smith, Dannie Lee, Andrew Moore, DeAnna Moore, Donna Hamm, Joe Currier, Val Currier, Carrie Kruska and Karen Dooley.

Visitors present were: Johanna Granger (Johanna.Granger@gmail.com), Lauren Smith, Vicky Pinto, and Teresa Salyer(tshs_nurse@yahoo.com).

The September general meeting minutes were read by Carrie Kruska and approved as read.

Treasurer’s report was read by Karen Dooley and accepted as presented.

The Conformation Show Chair, Pam Jones discussed the offering of the Eye Clinic by Dr. Ward at the May Confirmation Show. The GKKC will pay Dr. Ward with one check and the charge will be $50 per dog with a $5 discount per dog for GKKC Members. We discussed charging vendors for the air-conditioned space and adding air-conditioned space at ½ price for Friday ONLY. Show Chair made a request for Trophy donations and an individual for Vendor Chair.

Agility Chair, Katie Smiley, discussed the GKKC Agility Trial held at Three Bulls Farm in Bulls Gap, TN, with the addition of in and out gates, need for Agility Gate app, crating space may be increased or a tent may be provided, Agility Judges are secured for 2025 and there may be an increase in agility entry fees.

The GKKC Scentwork Trial will be held November 11-12 at the Run Fast Bark Loud Facility in Kingsport. There will be Novice and Advanced classes.

We discussed participating in the Kingsport Christmas Parade on December 2 at 6pm. There is a commitment of at least 12-15 dogs to represent the GKKC.GKKC Christmas Part will be held on December 6 @ 7pm at the Chop House in Kingsport.

Our next General Meeting will be November 27, 2023, and the next scheduled GKKC Board Meeting will be November 27 @ 5:30pm.
