Greater Kingsport Kennel Club General meeting Monday, September 24, 2018 at Appalachian Fairgrounds was called to order at 7:05 PM by President, Ben Gibbs.

Members present were: Rhonda Gibbs, Ben Gibbs, Kim Williams, David Richman, Barbara Salberg-Richman, Brenda Grable, Judy Pinkevich, Pam Jones, Valda Currier, Joe Currier, Sherry Crossley, Pam Miller, Dee Wildenstein, Julie Webster, Andrew Moore, DeAnna Moore, Tom Kirstein, Mary Sparks, and Cindy Hintz.

July 23, 2018 general meeting minutes approved as read.

Treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

Obedience and Rally chair discussed having rosettes for 1st – 4th placements in Obedience and Rally and title ribbons. After discussion Pam Miller made a motion that the obedience and rally chair be allowed to purchase the rosettes and title ribbons. Val Currier seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Trophy chair will be sending an email asking for trophy donations.

The scent work trials have been approved for March 30 and March 31, 2019. There will be 2 trials per day of Novice and Advanced. Entries are limited to 120 per trial.

Agility trial chair said the match for Friday and Saturday have been approved. Profits will go to Canine Cancer. The agility trial is October 12, 13, and 14.

Judy Pinkevich will order AKC pamphlets for our public education requirement.

Parking fees at the May show were discussed. Tom Kirstein made a motion that to eliminate the parking fees at the conformation show. Joe Currier seconded the motion. The motion passed with 18 voting in favor and 1 abstaining.

We will have a presentation at the October meeting by Bill Creasy, Ouch G’Bang Working Dogs www.ouchgbang.com.

Katie Smiley’s application was read for the second time.
Karen Dooley’s application was read for the first time.

Kim Williams did a presentation and demonstration on scent work.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM.
